What our Guests say..
Where to start!
When we arrived Tina and Graeme were there to meet us and were so welcoming. We instantly liked them and it set the tone for our stay. The gite is spotlessly clean and they seem to have thought of everything that you could possibly need to make your stay the most comfortable, including a lovely welcome pack to start off that includes bread, butter, cake and wine!!! I mean, what more could you want?
The decor throughout is tasteful and beautifully done. As hosts, Graeme and Tina are always on hand if you need anything, and really, nothing is too much trouble but they are not at all intrusive. We had a very restful week, going out for days to lovely towns and villages such as Vannes and St Nicolas. Larmor-Plage was a 40 minute drive, it was worth it! A beautiful almost deserted beach, there are activities, such as wind surfing, paddle boarding and cycling, all of which you can hire the equipment that you need. We combined these days out with restful days at the Gite and all it has to offer.
The peace and tranquillity is just perfect.
The heated pool area is spotless and is attended every day by Graeme and Tina, morning and evening to keep this pristine. We will certainly be booking again in the future and recommending to our friends and family.
Do yourself a favour and book, you wont regret it!

Walnut tree Gîte is truly exquisite.
The Gîte is fully equipped. The house is not only very comfortable, but also very attractively decorated. Tina and Greame are wonderful hosts. From the first reception you can feel how much love they have transformed this place into a wonderful holiday resort. Everything has been thought of: a cold bottle of white wine, a welcome pack for dogs, fresh flowers, freshly baked delicious cake and last but not least lovely soft linen. The garden with the private pool is a paradise. We ate outside every day at the large dining table, where we of course eagerly made use of the top gas BBQ. The kitchen is very complete with plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils. Both bathrooms are neatly clean. It is not necessary to bring toys or games, because that has also been thought of. Tina and Greame clean the pool daily. That happens unnoticed - early in the morning. The village is wonderfully quiet, with plenty of walking opportunities nearby. On the banks of the Blavet (a 10-minute drive at most) it is wonderful, also for the dog. With an hour's drive you reach the beautiful Breton beaches. We have been in Walnut Tree Gîte for a week, but it could have been longer. With a heavy heart we had to say goodbye to this lovely place and the cordial owners, an absolute must!

What an amazing find Walnut Tree Gite is.
This large, beautifully appointed, well equipped and immaculately kept property is situated in a small, peaceful village within 10 mins drive of Pontivy.
The owners, Tina and Graeme (who live next door), have really gone the extra mile to make sure the gite is equipped with absolutely everything you would need in this home away from home. Their attention to detail and thoughtfulness is exceptional. From the moment you walk through the door you know that you are staying in a 5* property. There are some lovely touches too - a very generous welcome pack with home made cake, red & white wine, cheese, bread, butter, home made chutney and jam, milk, savoury nibbles and a beautiful vase of fresh flowers from the garden. The linens and towels are top quality, even the pool towels.
The heated swimming pool is the perfect place to cool off, with sun loungers alongside.
It’s set in the most beautiful well stocked, colourful gardens (yes, gardens plural). There are peaceful little nooks with seating just at the back of the property and plenty of lawned areas, plus a good sized table under a pergola.
There are so many beautiful places to visit, all within a 50 min/1 hour drive drive. We visited Auray, St Goustin, Carnac, Vannes and our favourites were Locronan, Rochefort en Terre and Josselin - all so pretty. Pontivy is close by (10 min drive) and there’s plenty of lovely shops if you want a bit of retail therapy.
I can’t recommend Walnut Tree Gite enough. I simply cannot fault anything about it and Tina and Graeme are lovely, lovely people, always on hand for whatever you need and a fount of knowledge on places to visit. We visited June 2022 and we will certainly return to WTG.
If you’re thinking of booking, just go ahead and do it before someone beats you to it.
You’ll have a wonderful stay and won’t be disappointed.

We had a wonderful week at Walnut Tree Gite.
The house is full of character, extremely comfortable and stylishly furnished. We had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The spacious gardens were absolutely stunning, and there were various secluded places to sit, either in the shade or sun, and which are private and not overlooked. It has its own private heated swimming pool which was such a plus, as many of the gites i looked at had shared pools, so this was a fantastic find. Last but not least, Tina and Graeme were the perfect hosts - totally respected your privacy, but were always there if you wanted some information, or even just a chat. They also have the most adorable dog who got along perfectly with our pooch too. Couldn't recommend more highly!

My husband & I have just returned from a fantastic week’s holiday at Walnut Tree Gîte.
The gîte is in a small & quiet but beautiful village in the Brittany countryside but close to explore other lovely surrounding towns & villages such as Pontivy & Saint Nicholas. Pontivy is ideal for any shopping you may need & Saint Nicholas for a wonderful stroll along the stunning riverside, followed by a stop for a refreshing glass of rose wine & to sample delicious traditional French crepes. And with only around 40 minute drives we visited the beautiful village of Josselin & also had a fabulous day out at the seaside. Brittany is picturesque & unspoilt, the villages are clean, pretty & so well kept.
The gîte itself is beautifully decorated, extremely spacious, immaculately clean & exceptionally well equipped. The owners have taken a lot of care in thinking how to make your stay at Walnut Tree Gîte as comfortable as if you were at home. The added touches are outstanding & the welcome pack is fabulous - red & white wine & home-made cake, jam & chutney plus bread, butter, cheese, milk, tea, coffee & nibbles provided. The gardens around Walnut Tree Gîte are spacious, stunning with colourful shrubs & plants & superbly maintained. As is the added bonus of the daily maintained heated swimming pool & lovely seating & covered Al fresco dining area. Tina & Graeme are the perfect hosts, really lovely people who live next door & are there if you need any help & advice of where to visit/shop etc. Finally a mention to the lovely Poppy dog who would come out to see us every morning when we were sitting at the front of the gîte in the sunshine having our morning coffee & a slice of Tina’s home-made coffee & walnut cake.
Five star gîte, five star holiday - we’ll definitely be back!

We have enjoyed such a wonderful time.
Tina & Graeme are the perfect hosts, full of tips & ideas, kind, friendly and made us feel really at home.
We really appreciated all the extra touches, gorgeous yellow tulips, specially made vegan flapjacks, an Easter egg hunt for the children, homemade jam, chutney (so tasty) attention to detail would be hard to find.
We have had great days out. There are so many things to do & see in the area, the only problem is deciding what!
Thank you again, you have made our holiday really special and have thought of everything we could possibly need!
A bientot!

We can definitely recommend a holiday at Walnut Tree Gîte.
We had a fab time!
Set in a peaceful village location in a beautiful area of Brittany with lots of interesting places to visit and close enough to the coast for day trips to the beaches. The weather was perfect, especially for mid-september, so we spent a lot of time each day around the lovely pool and the evenings dining alfresco in the very pretty garden. The gite was very comfortable and had everything you could need, plus a great welcome pack with homemade goodies. The owners Tina and Graeme have thought of everything to make their guests feel welcome.

Walnut Tree Gîte is the perfect location for a quiet break in the unspoilt Bretton countryside.
The Gite is in a very small and quiet village but close enough to Pontivy to explore and find all the things you'll need. The Gîte itself is exceptionally clean and very well equipped. The beds are super comfortable and the owners have gone to a lot of trouble to think about their guests needs. The fabulous welcome pack means that if you haven't had chance to go shopping on the way, you wont go hungry for your first meal. The Gîte is very spacious with a large welcoming kitchen, living room, dining room, three bathrooms (one en-suite) two double bedrooms and two single bedrooms. The garden and pool are an added bonus and both are exceptionally well maintained. Finally, Tina and Graeme are the perfect hosts. They can't for enough for you and have clearly thought a lot about what their guests might need. Thoroughly recommended. We will be back!

We had a great holiday at the Walnut Tree Gîte!
The property was really well equipped for all our needs, with everything you could need in the kitchen, comfortable furnishings throughout, good wifi, outdoor table tennis and a heated pool. Both the cottage and its grounds were immaculately maintained. Thanks to the owners’ Tina efforts and attention to detail, all our party had a restful and enjoyable stay. The gîte is in a peaceful village, with great local walks, and attractive towns, restaurants and markets nearby. There are a range of activities available in the wider area suitable for children and adults including historic buildings and castles, along with the prehistoric site at Carnac. Further afield we also particularly enjoyed cycling along the local river and canal and visiting some of the beautiful sandy beaches. We highly recommend a stay at this lovely house and we hope to return!

Walnut Tree Gîte is the perfect gite that you would dream of, it ticks all the boxes with a 5 star rating.
We found the Gîte to be spotlessly clean, very well equipped and most comfortable. The welcome extras were much appreciated as were the kindness and helpfulness of our hosts. Situated in a beautiful, tranquil, rural area we enjoyed lovely forest and country walks with our dog Horice, ending the day with a welcome swim and relaxing time by the pool. Poppy, the host’s dog was great company for Horice. We shall certainly look forward to returning. Many thanks to Tina and Graeme, for a wonderful holiday,
Louise, Steve, Pauline and Horice the Dog.

After a year without seeing each other, a year of missing each other deeply, a year far away from our family for us living in Dubai, Walnut Tree Gîte has been exactly what we needed.
More than just a Gîte, more than just a cosy and beautiful place, you have allowed us to be reunited and I honestly couldn't think of a better place for this. Your hospitality, kindness, attention to detail, your smile every morning, everything has been just wonderful.
Noah has loved every minute of it, discovering his country, the grass, dogs, birds and so many more precious memories, surrounded by his family. . . . .finally!
Thank you, on behalf of my family, from the bottom of my heart, for this amazing stay, making us feel at home away from home.
I can tell you one thing, you have made the right decision coming here and starting a new life, because you are absolutely wonderful people and hosts.

If you are looking for a gîte in Brittany then look no further than Walnut Tree Gîte.
We stayed there for 2 weeks and were so sad we had to leave – we wanted to stay at least another week! The gîte is a real home away from home and has everything you could need. Tina and Graeme have thought of everything to make Walnut Tree Gîte friendly, homely and absolutely spotless! Each room has just what you need. A place often advertises towels and beach towels but the towels can be small and scratchy – we didn’t use our own towels as the Walnut Tree Gîte towels were lovely and fluffy. During the fortnight we had the duvet and towels changed and even extra toilet roll provided - we’re used to going and buying our own! The kitchen is equipped with everything you can think of. There is nothing you need that Tina and Graeme haven’t provided. The bedrooms are lovely and spacious – we had a choice of the master or the gorgeous mezzanine – both were bright and airy. Our son loved his room, it was just right for him. Outside, the gardens are lovely and have continual sunshine. We spent many hours in the pool – our son loved it and as someone who isn’t usually bothered about the pool, I spent a lot of time in it as it is big and warm! When we weren’t in the pool, we were relaxing in the loungers or chairs in peaceful surroundings. The garden is lovely and colourful. I spent hours out there reading. As hosts, Tina and Graeme are fantastic. They made us welcome the moment we arrived and nothing was too much trouble for them. The welcome goodies were well received – the homemade cake, jams and chutneys were delicious! Despite being next door, we felt as if we had the place to ourselves. We can’t not mention Poppy dog either. We had our daily cuddles with her – she is so gentle and our son loved playing with her most days and sneakily opening the gate so she could visit us when we were sat outside! Walnut Tree Gîte is well situated to get out and about and visit the area. We enjoyed visiting local towns, cities and walks. We will be returning to Walnut Tree Gîte in the future – the date is already in the diary! Thank you Tina and Graeme for making this one of our most enjoyable holidays to France. Despite the Covid-19 ‘cloud’ hanging over many things, we had one of the best holidays ever. You have a beautiful place and anyone who stays with you will want to return. We are missing you both, Poppy and the gîte.

We all had a wonderful time at Walnut Tree Gîte.
Tina and Graeme couldn’t be better hosts - totally respectful of our privacy but on hand throughout to make sure all goes smoothly. They really went above and beyond with thoughtful touches, including an epic welcome pack (including one for our dog), an emergency wine reserve and loads of kids toys and dvds/books. Our two boys (3&6) loved splashing around in the pool (it’s so hard to find smaller places with their own private pool) and we all loved the garden, but we spent a lot of time exploring the area. My husband raved about the cycling and although we were a bit worried about not being closer to the coast, nearby Lac de Guerlédan which has 2 sandy beaches ticked that box just fine. Our highlights include hiring bikes from Breton Bikes to pootle along the Nantes-Brest Canal (we had an amazing lunch at pop-up canal side cafe), the days we spent at the lake and our trip to nearby Saint Nicholas where we hired a pedalo.

A very spacious and recently renovated gite located in a very quiet village.
I was quite surprised how big the place was. Even the kitchen and gardens are are quite large. There is also 3 bath/shower rooms. It also has a certain mix of English and French charm (separate living room and dining room for example - surely rare for a gîte). The hosts were very kind and helpful, we found some additional nice treats upon arrival. For visiting the south coast of Brittany, you are located about 1 hour from most of the main tourist places. For resting or visiting the mid/south of Brittany, this place was ideal.
